The photograph above left shows a view from the clachan looking over the valley below towards Tiveragh Hill, Red Bay and Garron Point. The photograph above right shows an aerial view of the clachan. This clachan which is situated in the townland of Tirkilly is 500 feet above sea level. Today the clachan is deserted and the houses and outbuildings are in ruins. It is still possible to recognise at least seven houses most of which had an attached office or outbuilding. In the past the clachan was occupied by families of McLoughlins and McCambridges.

The photographs below show the wallsteads and deserted buildings which make up the clachan area today.
