| My great grandparents were Daniel McNeill and Margaret O'Hara. My grandmother was Rose McNeill. Daniel and Margaret were born in Northern Ireland in 1838 and 1839. Rose was born in Chicago, USA in 1877. My grandmothers older sister Mary McNeill (Mamie) married Hugh Delargy. Based on the surnames I assume they were from the Glens of Antrim area. Daniel and Magaret were living in Chicago based on the 1880 census. I am new to the forum and hope somone might have a connection |

Hi Do you have any specific information re your gg f and ggm e.g anyclue re where they came from in Ireland? These names are common not just in The Glens of Antrim but across the country If you can trace birth/marriage/death certificates you might get some further information Good luck |

The 1930 US Census states they were both born in Northern Ireland. I don't have any other information. It seems like the surnames match with Northern Ireland and the Glens of Antri.

| There was a Daniel McNeill born or maybe baptised 9/12/1838 to James McNeill whose wife was Jane Hamill. This was recorded in Glenarm Catholic Church records. The sponsors for Daniel were John? Hamill and Elen McNeill. Another son Henry was born in February 1840, sponsors John McNeill and ? Petticrew. I'm certain there were other children but don't have their details to hand. Quite often birth & baptism were on the same day. I'm afraid I have no other details but would be interested in knowing if this was your ggrandfather as I think he is connected to me. |

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I don't recognize any of the surnames you mention in your reply. I will keep your reply in hopes that down the line more information will surface

| You mentioned the name Petticrew. The Petticrews are from Cairncastle, and still live there. The O'Hara's originally came from Crebilly, Then to Garron Point, and finally settled in Cushendun. There were several McNeill families in Glenarm area and The Braid, some now died out. The Delargey's could be from Glenariffe, Cushendall, or Cushendun. |

I have several Hugh Delargy ancestors. What sort of age was he and did they have children?
