Hello Gareth - I 'talked' with you a few times - my ancestors are the McCanns and Scullions of Cargan and Dunaghy. Moira is in NI right now with her daughter Catriona - please let me know your email address and I will forward to Moira - I am hesitant to post her email address here without her permission. My email is LKNhousemaster@aol.com
Susan Gingras (I will be in Glenravel May 7-15 and would like to meet you) |

Hello Susan,
I don't remember if we ever corresponded before. Anyway, I wonder if your family's Scullions included sisters Mary and Rose (or Rosetta) who eventually came to the U.S? They married brothers named McAuley, perhaps McCauley. Hope your trip in May goes well....

Hi Bob - We did talk about your Scullions a while back, at this point I can't find a relationship. My Scullions resided in the Glens, possibly coming from Louth.

Hi there, The Census information on the family for 1901 can be found at the following link http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Antrim/Falls_Ward/Cawn_Pore_Street/979498/d Daniel and Pat were shot dead by RUC in 1921 in Belfast. The murders are well documented if you search for Duffin Brother Murders The surviving brother John was advisor to Michael Collins during the trouble in the north and The Catholic Teachers Strike. John went on to become the first principal of St Kevins, a post he held for 23 years from 1933-56. He lived to record his memories of the struggle and his papers, including correspondence with both Irish governements, are now in the public record office in Belfast. John died in 1977 aged 86 but he remains an iconic figure to several generations of fromer St Kevins scholors. John Duffin (Glasgow) |

Hi John I'm not sure but I have found a marriage of Agnes Robinson to James Duffin in Braid RC Church on 21-04-1875. My mother was known as Nancy Duffin but her birth name was Agnes so I am assuming there may be a connection there. Regards Marian Clegg

| My mother is a Duffin; her father was Charles Duffin, one of Henry's sons. I'm trying to find out how/when Rose died. I know it was when Charles was very young. Jennifer |

I have some copies of the computer generated reports of the Glenravel Church Records. They show that Henry Duffin of Knockanally married Rose O'Raw of Craigdunloup on September 18, 1888.
Patrick Duffin of Knockanally married Anne McErlain of Gornageerah on February 28, 1879
These are the only 2 Duffin of Knockanally marriages in the records I have.
On the births, I see Michael Duffin born on February 24, 1839 to Neil Duffin and Mary Connolly in Knockanally Ellen Duffin born to Patrick Duffin and Catherine Murray in Knockanally Sep 29, 1880 Mary Duffin born to Richard Duffin and Mary McLaughlin in Knockanally Jan 28, 1850 John Duffin born to Richard Duffin and Mary McLaughlin in Knockanally Jul 27, 1851 Catherine Duffin born to Richard Duffin and Mary McLaughlin in Knockanally Mar 13,, 1853
Does anyone know the names of the parents of Henry Duffin and Rose O'Raw.

Hello Jenny I don't know when Rose died but I know her two brothers James a cellarman 21 and Charles a general labourer 25 were lving with Henry and Rose at 39 Cawn Pore Street in Falls Ward 1901. Henry and Roses sons Daniel and Patrick were murdered in 1921 and John went on to be a Headmaster of St Kevins PS. I think Mary their sister married a John Mc Laughlin in 1913 still searching!!
