I am a writer doing research on a novel. John McGregor is my grandfather 13 times removed and though I have found much on uprisings and other conflicts, my interest is in the everyday lives; how the McGregors felt about leaving Scotland; where they lived when they arrived; did they come with any household goods; what sort of toll the event took on the clan's wives. I was in Northern Ireland in May, but only for five days and unfortunately the only opportunity to see anything of Glenarm was passing through on the way to Derry, stopping briefly in Carnlough. History tells me that my ancestors had a barony in Glenarm, but I don't know which part. I would so appreciate any leads on the most factual resources. Thank you in advance.
